Dining and Entertainment – A Great Night Out

It doesn’t matter if you’re in need of a date night or an outing to catch up with family and friends, an evening of dining and entertainment is a great way to make it happen. Date Night Dining together is the perfect time to reconnect and stay involved in the day to day events of each other’s lives. It’s a fairly well-established fact that mealtime is the perfect opportunity for this, but why go out? Why not do it at home? You can, but a night out makes it special and gives you something to look forward to. Don’t you want date night to be more than just take out food and a movie on Netflix? A night out of dining and entertainment can help keep the spark in your relationship. You’ll get out of your sweatpants and take a little extra effort in your appearance. Neither of you will be stuck over a hot stove after a long day at work and there won’t be any dispute about what’s for dinner. You can each order whatever you want. Date night should also be more than going out, grabbing a bite to eat and heading back home. Dining and entertainment are a great combination for date night. Going to a restaurant that offers entertainment will make for a complete night…

Why Catering Your Next Event is a Good Idea

Whenever you are planning any type of event, social or business, there is always so much to do. Of course you will want to participate in your event as well as plan it, but that can be difficult if you spend most of it overseeing the all the details. Any task you can let someone else handle will free you up to enjoy your event. It is best to hire a catering service and leave the food preparation to the experts. Choosing the Menu This task can be almost as difficult as preparing all the food when hosting a large group. You will want to plan a menu that will appeal to everyone. A restaurant or service with catering expertise can help you create a selection of menu choices that will make it almost impossible for your guest not to find something they like. Most catering services will also be able to tailor some of their menu options to accommodate guests who may have special dietary needs, such as gluten free options. How Much Food Will You Need? How many people will be attending your event? 30 guests? 50 guests or more? When was the last time you cooked for that many people? You probably never have, right? This is another reason catering is the best option when it comes…

Take Out Food – Great Reasons to Order Out

Who doesn’t love the convenience of take out food? We’ve all done it, some of us do it more often than others and we all have our own reasons for ordering take out. No matter what your reasons are, a large part of the food not prepared at home is take out. So why do we like to order out so much? Don’t Have to Cook This is probably the most common reason for ordering take out food. Nobody feels like cooking. You just got home, it’s been a long day and the last thing you feel like doing is spending an hour in the kitchen preparing a meal. It only take a few minutes to order out. Then you can spend your time relaxing, enjoying your meal and spending time with family or friends. Can’t Stand The Heat It’s not just a quaint saying especially in the heat of the summer. Turning on the stove, especially the oven, will contribute to heating up the house. No matter how much you crank up the air conditioning, you’ll still feel the heat. Very Little Clean Up Clean up is almost non-existent when you order take out food. Depending on what type of food you order, there maybe a plate or two and a few utensils, but other than that, all you…

Dining Out – The Reasons We Like It

Everyone likes to go out to eat, right? Dining out is becoming increasingly popular these days. There are so many benefits to dining out beyond the obvious chore of cooking and cleaning up. Be Spontaneous Who hasn’t waited until the last minute to decide on what to make for dinner? Then, you realize you don’t have all the ingredients or the meat is still frozen. There’s not enough time for the meat to thaw or to run to the grocery store…..well….you might as well just go out to eat. There is a lot of prep and planning when it comes to making dinner at home. The planning actually begins with grocery shopping, with more planning and prep the day you are going to cook the meal. Some of us are not great planners, or when it comes time to make the meal we aren’t in the mood for what we’ve planned. Some people just can’t plan that far ahead, not deciding what they want for dinner until ten minutes before it’s time to eat. In that case, you’ll probably end up looking for an interesting restaurant rather than a recipe. Be Social When you dine out, eating becomes a social event. A meal is more enjoyable when shared with family and friends. With our busy schedules, it’s the perfect way…

We’ve come up with a way to help keep them occupied, get them to eat and may even allow the adults to relax a bit while enjoying their meal. At Tuscan Bistro Bar, a Toms River restaurant, we offer the kids the opportunity to make their own pizza. First they get to pick all of their favorite ingredients. Then they layer the crust with sauce, cheese and toppings to build their pizza. We pop it into the oven and…

Gluten Free Options in Ocean County

Here at Tuscan Bistro Bar, we value healthy living. Sometimes, it’s really hard to go out for a nice meal with family and friends and find those delicious but still healthy options. Our menu is full of just that – delicious, fresh, healthy, local food. We not only have a clean eating menu but many of our menu items are available as gluten free. Why Gluten Free? Gluten sensitivity or intolerance is typically a symptom on one of three things: Celiac Disease, Wheat Allergy, and Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity. This condition causes a person to have a reaction after ingesting gluten and requires that they remove gluten from their diet.   What is Gluten? Gluten is a general name for the proteins found in wheat, rye, barley and triticale. Gluten helps foods maintain their shape, acting as a glue that holds food together. Gluten can be found in many types of foods. Some are obvious considering gluten basically comes from grain, others may be surprising. Wheat is commonly found in foods that contain flour. Breads, baked goods, pastas and cereals are foods you would probably expect to contain wheat. It can also be found in sauces, soups, salad dressing and roux, a blend of fat and flour used to thicken sauces. Barley can be found in malt, malt vinegar, food coloring,…
