What is the ALS Foundation?

Established in 1985, The ALS Association is a national non-profit organization leading the fight against Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Through a nationwide network of chapters, they lead the way in global research, providing assistance for people with ALS. The Association builds hope and enhances quality of life while aggressively searching for new treatments and a cure.

The Association’s vision is to create a world without ALS. Their mission is to lead the fight to treat and cure ALS through global research and nationwide advocacy. They also empower people with Lou Gehrig’s Disease and their families to live fuller lives by providing them with compassionate care and support.

The ALS Association has committed more than $67 million to find effective treatments and a cure for Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Their global research effort has helped increase the number of scientists working on ALS, advanced new discoveries and treatments, and has shed light on the complex genetic and environmental factors involved in ALS.
